La Luna

On my second evening in Nosara, a bunch of “Harmonizers” went over to La Luna: one of the few restaurants in Nosara right on the waterfront. Apparently, it was built before regulations prevented direct waterfront development. We were a funny sight: a centipede of people stumbling around in the dark, except for Paul, who sped right along – either he has nocturnal vision, or he was not kidding when he said that he’d eaten at La Luna every night of the week.

We ended up having drinks around a table on their lawn (where Lee brought up the “global warming sculpture” idea), and then by the main course, we were reseated on their porch. Dakota and I both went for the comfort dish on the menu: spaghetti carbonara. Also, nice wines.

Really though, the best part of La Luna is that when someone asks for directions to the place, you can say, “Follow the beach.” How many restaurants warrant those directions? In labyrinthine Manhattan, the answer is pretty much zero.

Lest you think I’m obsessed with La Luna, I am. But do not fear — there will be entries on other culinary experiences to be had in Nosara…
