Strange Smoke
I was digging through my photos from Nosara and found this one, taken from the plane. It looks like smoke columns billowing out of the middle of forest land.
Does any one have any idea what this is? A forest fire? A factory hidden under the canopy of trees?
That looks like an awful lot of smoke there..

A lot of times there are “clearing” fires that go out of control. Looks like that might have been the case here. One time Susan and I had to hop out of our car and help put out a forest fire (no fire dept.) that had been born from burning refuse. We were running back and forth from a nearby house that had a well, and the soles of my Rainbows were smoking/melting the ground was so hot. We got it out managed/isolated finally, but it was really hairy.
I can only imagine you and Susan running back and forth with buckets of water!

Dawn, that cloud of smoke is *coming* from John hitting his hookamotooshimmobile, a giant contraption he hides in the jungle in Garza. It is operated by Howler Monkeys dressed in bell hop uniforms that feed sweet, green leaf common to the region into the machine’s mouth.
