There are not many times in life
where one gets to see (perhaps
*wants* to see) a snapping turtle
penis. But we’re nature lovers
here at the Harmony Blog and that
sometimes includes that things
that bad dreams are made of — also,
I am sure there are plenty of
snapping turtles out there who
are just wishing they could
operate a computer and navigate
the internet to get a look at
this pic for themselves. After
this was taken, the turtle was
returned to the pond, much to the
dismay of the nearby Canadian

He’s a big feller, that’s for sure

I was out visiting my folks farm
in NJ when my Mom told me about
witnessing the demise of a
Canadian Goose, pulled underwater
flapping and squawking by an
unseen, underwater predator.
Shortly afterwards, my friend Dan
and his girlfriend Gabriella
snapped these shots of a snapping
turtle from that pond. Thanks
Gabriella and Dan for the
following pictures, especially
the last one
I certainly won’t be skinny
dipping in that pond anytime
soon.

Lee Hirsch (whom I met at the
Harmony in January) had a New
York screening for his
documentary
that aired on the
history channel.

Here we are, at his producer’s
house. He’s the one with the beer
right next to his face.

Sorry if any of you were trying
to post recently, and couldn’t log
in. The blog was having technical
problems — but now it’s up and
running!

John found this great show of
surfboard art in New York, made
by Dirk Westphal, who taught
himself how to shape surfboards
and everything. Thanks to Shannon
Heth for the photo.
