Jugo de Cana
Sugar Cane juice. A favorite drink amongst some of the staff at the healing centre.
Interesting to taste, it is sweet and thick.
A juice know to those raw foodists out there enjoying how it is full of cholorphyll.
Here in the picture you see the machine the cane is run through, pressing the juice out of the stalk. The stalk is left behind and you get a glass of jugo de cana. YUMMY!!!
This is often found at markets in Costa Rica. You may have to ask for it and it often comes out of a vendors little cooler carry box in a small plastic bag.
I don’t know what happened to the Costa Rican man who was a constant outside of the grocery store in Liberia but I miss the visits and of course your fresh jugo de cana.

Hey Tammy!!!!
Bravo on the sugar cane, wanted to share something most delicious! if when you run the cane through the machine you add some fresh ginger root and lime through as well, it makes it the ultimate in wonderful - this is how its done all throughout Zanzibar and it really rocks… lemme know if you give it a try!
lots o love,
