so we’ve got these 2 pieces, we’ve glued them back together with resin, taking care to align the stringer ( wooden spine ). you can’t do this part precisely enough. after figuring a way to clamp and hold things together go ahead and glue them, - just to get the board into one piece. don’t worry about holes, gouges or anything, just a snug fit with maximum contact to ensure a good set, initially, so you ( or we ) can go on from there. the photo shows the resin after it has dried. what I haven’t mentioned is that this is Andrea’s board- my whizzo website helper- she broke the board over her head last hurricane season, and it’s ben laying around for an opportunity like this. on a tech note- we use epoxy resin- not nearly as sinister as polyesther, and better in every way except that it costs a lot more ( that’s why factory boards use it- and it takes longer to dry) also, as you may notice- we have peeled off all the old layers of fiberglass and we’re down to the bare foam core of the board. it is as if we’re starting from the beginning. it’s the opposite of a patch. so, once that is dry and the board is one piece again and you can handle it as such, it is time to get to work on the structural problems.
