  NYC, New York

  January 19th 2007

From January 5th’s AMNewYork:

“You can blame El Nino, global warming or blind chance, but today marks the longest New York City has gone into the season without snowfall since 1878, when it finally snowed on Jan. 4th.”

What do they mean, “… or blind chance?” This seems suspiciously like an attempt to keep everyone from getting too worried about global warming.

Of course you can blame blind chance. You can blame anything: Simon Cowell, your childhood.

John had me watch An Inconvenient Truth, and after that, blind chance doesn’t seem like such a likely culprit.

What about the photo in the postcard? It’s not from this year. It’s from last year, when there was actually snow in New York. :(
